HART — The Ludington Orioles girls bowling team took a close 15.5-14.5 win over Fremont on Wednesday at the Eagles Bowling Lanes in Hart.

“It was a very close meet tonight,” said Ludington coach Maggie Bates. “My girls did struggle a bit, but in the end they came out on top.”

“I am proud of the perseverance they had tonight.”

In the Baker games, the Orioles scored 128 and 165.

In first five-person team game, Ludington totaled 600, with Rachel Faust leading the way. Faust rolled a 132. Saige Phelps winged a 128. Lily Roberts and Paighton Bentz both scored a 124.

Paighton Bentz rolled a 177 in the second team game as the Orioles amassed 585 pins.

“We know we have some things to work on in practice,” said Bates. “But it was a good win.”
