MUSKEGON — As has been the case all season, Manistee's co-ed wrestling team gave up several forfeits, and then lost a couple matches it counted on winning in a 42-27 loss to Orchard View in Lakes 8 Activities Conference action Wednesday night.

Individual victories for the Chippewas were recorded by Isaac Reynolds at 135 pounds, Bryson Jensen at 160, Connor Barke at 171, Keith Barke at 189 and Billy Henkel at 215.

Keaton Connell lost a two-point match to a returning state qualifier after being close to winning it. He had a pin locked up and it got away from him.

"I feel at the conference tournament where second, third and fourth place matter we can possibly catch them and beat them as a team in that kind of setting where my guys are going to win their weight classes," Manistee coach Darrell Burchfield said.

"Keaton has gotten better rapidly this year and he's competitive with the top-tier kids. He just kind of needs to finish the job at this stage of the game. We lost at 112 where we were close."
