The Oceana County Republican Party will host its annual Lincoln/Reagan Day Dinner Saturday, May 4 at the West Michigan Masonic Center, 2661 N. Oceana Dr., Hart.

Social hour is set to begin at 6 p.m. with dinner served at 7 p.m.

The theme of this years dinner will be “Why should we work for and elect Republican candidates to office?”

State Senator Goeff Hansen and State Representative Jon Bumstead will catalogue the accomplishments Michigan has done since the 2010 election.

If you are a fan of Michigan improving its credit rating, cutting down on frivolous regulations or passing the budget ahead of time and living within our means, you won’t want to miss this event.

The Oceana County Republican Party will also be celebrating its community service as evidenced by their funding of a charter bus full of students from Shelby, Hart and home scholars to the state capitol. A home schooled student will give a brief talk of her experience along with pictures in a power point of the trip.

A brief tutorial about the Oceana County Republican Party website,, and their Facebook page, oceanacountygop, will be given. Both of these sites have more information and pictures about the upcoming Lincoln/Reagan Day Dinner and their other upcoming events.

Nick Beyer has graciously agreed to be the evenings auctioneer. Members and other business owners have come up with a great variety of items and services to be auctioned.

Dinner will be catered by Kaz Catering and will include a choice of roast beef or chicken breast. Also on the menu are baked potatoes, sweet and sour green beans, rolls and butter, fruit salad, a mini salad bar, and coffee.

Appetizers, created by party members will be provided, during the social hour. This is a BYOB event. If you want to bring a dessert or appetizer contact Don Sheppard, 231-450-2680.

Tickets are $25 per person.
