Advent Market and Craft Fair
St. Vincent’s will also be hosting their 7th annual Advent Market and Craft Fair, Saturday, Nov. 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Church hall at 637 E. Sixth St. in Pentwater. Lunch, featuring Cubano sandwiches and homemade soup, will be served during the market and provided by the Knights of Columbus. Meal donations accepted.
The Lights of Love tree lighting celebration will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5 for the 31st year at the north entrance of Mercy Health Partners Lakeshore Campus in Shelby.
This annual celebration gives the community an opportunity to pause to remember or honor someone special to them during the busy holiday season.
A new metal tree has been designed to replace the banner used in previous years. A suggested donation of $5 places a name on a handcrafted ornament on the tree in the lobby as well as lighting a bulb on the outdoor tree. The names of those remembered or honored will be displayed on the tree in the month of December. Names and donations received through Dec. 5 will be on the tree the night of the event. Those received later will be added to the tree.
Forms for names and donations are available in the lobby of the hospital, Lakeshore Campus, Mercy Health at 72 S. Michigan Ave.
All proceeds will be used toward the purchase of a SR555 Stand-On Scale which provides features for quick and easy operation. It also will provide additional ease and patient safety with a step on base and wrap around rails.
The Oceana community is invited to join in the celebration followed by music by the Shelby High School instrumental group in the lobby and refreshments in the hospital cafeteria.
This event is sponsored by Mercy Health Lakeshore Hospital Guild. For more information, please call the hospital at 231-861-2156.
