As part of their tour the duo will be performing at the Book Nook and Java Shop, 8774 Ferry St. on Friday, Nov. 27, at 4 p.m.
Aiming to create a balance between the contemporary and romantic styles, the program includes works by Muczynski, Dorff, Colquhoun, Kovacs, Doppler, Ravel, and two newly commissioned pieces by American composers, Kevin Wilson and Matthew Weaver.
In addition to exploring flexible sound colors of flute and clarinet, pianist Krystal Thomas will be featured in the programs as the guest artist.
Comprised of two rising solo performers - Ayça Çetin and Katsuya Yuasa - Duo Esplanade was founded while both musicians were studying at the Boston Conservatory.
Sharing the same passions of enriching the lives of large audiences, students, families and all members of community with chamber music concerts and educational programs has been the main motive of the duo. Each member has extensive performance experience and has won competitions such as the 2014 Yamaha Young Performing Artist Competition and 2015 Boston Woodwind Society Competition.
Also, they have performed in national and international conventions and festivals, and individually have performed in countries such as England, Italy, Kosovo, Turkey, United States, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador and Japan.
Striving to deepen musical appreciation and share their dynamic creativity, Duo Esplanade performs at a variety of venues in the United States while pursuing their Artist Diploma and Doctoral programs in Boston and Florida.
