WALHALLA — The Branch Fire Department was called to a blaze at a residence on East Sandra Kay Avenue Friday afternoon.

Departments were dispatched to the fire at 707 E. Sandra Kay Ave., shortly before 3 p.m.

Flames were showing through parts of the structure. It was later determined to be a total loss.

The fire was contained by 6:50 p.m., according to Branch Fire Chief Adam Abbott.

Two adults were living in the home, but weren’t there when the fire departments arrived. Three cats made it out of the residence without injury.

The Red Cross was contacted for assistance.

Branch was assisted by Fountain, Custer and Riverton fire departments.

Clean up lasted until 9 p.m.
