SCOTTVILLE — Scottville 17-year-old Jennie Golaszewski smiled as she was crowned the 2019 Miss Mason County at the scholarship pageant Tuesday evening, which kicked off the second annual Scottville 10 & 31 Celebration at the Scottville Clown Band Shell.

Andrea Shoop, age 19 of Ludington, was named the 2019 First Runner-Up for the pageant, which was held for the second annual year.

“It feels amazing,” Golaszewski told the Daily News. “I feel like a queen and a woman, and I’m excited to represent Mason County.”

Golaszewski is going into her senior year at Mason County Central High School. She’s active in the Mason County Central Forensics Team, and she’s also an actress for the Manistee Civic Players, she said during the speech portion of the pageant.

When Golaszewski graduates from high school, she wants to go to Grand Valley State University to earn a bachelor’s degree in microbiology, then to go to medical school at Oakland University to earn a degree in gynecology.

“Then I wish to come right here back in Mason County to support the mothers and daughters of Mason County,” she told the audience.
