“A metaphysical marketplace and spiritual growth center” — that’s how the owners describe Four Directions Alchemy, a new store in Ludington.
Sarah Domin and her mother, Lynda Bailey, and daughter-in-law, Naomi Visger, are the owners and operators of Four Directions Alchemy, which opened for business at 507 E. Dowland St. on Tuesday.
The store features products such as crystals, rocks and other minerals, incense, ceremonial candles, tarot and oracle cards and much more. Visger said that before their store opened, there were limited options in Mason County to find these kind of products, but now Four Directions Alchemy aims to provide them all.
“There are places to get some of these things, but definitely not all of it in one place,” she said. “(Our store is) a metaphysical marketplace to meet all of your cosmic and spiritual needs.”
The owners are also consigning with local artisans to have them display their handmade crafts, artwork and other goods for sale in the store. All of the arts and crafts will have a “natural, earthy or spiritual” theme, Visger said.
Goods will include jewelry, pendulums and key chains, as well as honey and beeswax products and other body care products. The store also sells a variety of Michigan-sourced essential oils.
Four Directions Alchemy has a small apothecary section to supply alternative health practitioners, featuring natural remedies such as herbs. The store is also consigning to offer holistic health services, such as reflexology and reiki, as well as other services, including tarot and oracle card readings and henna tattoos by appointment.
