SCOTTVILLE — Children gathered to pet, brush, braid and feed Maverick, a 14-year-old draft horse thoroughbred mix, when the equine visited the garden area of the Scottville Library for the 4-H Animal Show Wednesday afternoon.
“He’s absolutely getting pampered,” said Aaron Myers, 4-H coordinator for Mason County.
“One of the great things about 4-Hers is their desire to show off all their hard work, the responsibility and pride they have in their projects,” Myers said. “For a lot of kids in 4-H, shows are one of the things they look forward to all year.”
