SCOTTVILLE — Three new teachers will join the Mason County Central school district on Monday, if approved by trustees on the board of education.

During its meeting in the MCC High School, the board will consider recommendations for a special education teacher, a second-grade teacher and an elementary music teacher, according to the meeting notes from Superintendent Jeff Mount.

Upper Elementary Principal Kevin Kimes will recommend Julie Knudsen for the special education teaching position left vacant when Lisa Larsen retired at the end of the 2018-19 school year.

Kimes will also recommend April Keith to replace retiring elementary music teacher Deb Peterson.

To replace retiring second-grade teacher Donna Quinlan, Scottville Elementary Principal Chris Etchison will recommend that the board approve hiring Tawny Miller.
