Short and long-term solutions for the repair of Longbridge Road in Pentwater Township were sought by a number of Pentwater-area residents at the Oceana County Road Commission meeting on Wednesday.
Due to high water levels, the road commission closed the bridge between Monroe and Wayne roads in May, and it is expected to remain closed for several months. Water is encroaching on the paved shoulder, and the marsh and Pentwater Lake levels are also up, saturating the road bed.
Residents want the road board to come up with an immediate solution. One woman said that having no plan for repair is an outrage, and the bridge needs to be repaired now.
