U.S. Coast Guard’s Rich Voss helps Gypsy Rushing of Ludington learn about the pulling method of saving people in water Saturday at Loomis Street Boat ramp in Ludington.

The Ludington Police Department hosted it’s annual Water Safety Day at the Loomis Street boat ramp Saturday.

Police, firefighters and emergency medical personnel addressed safety in Lake Michigan, inland lakes and pools.

“People underestimate Lake Michigan and are under prepared,” said Owen Maurer with U.S. Coast Guard.
