A female victim was found in the waters of Lake Michigan around 10 p.m. Thursday night north of Stearns Park Beach in Ludington.
Ludington Police Chief Mark Barnett said a the female victim was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital. A teenager was reported to have went missing near the beach earlier in the night, but Barnett would not confirm the identity of the victim.
Ludington police notified the public of a missing teenage girl, Albrianna Huck, 14. The department reported that Huck went missing at 7:40 p.m. Thursday, wearing a bathing suit.
The female victim was found north of Stearns Park Beach along Lake Michigan in the 700 block of North Lakeshore Drive in Ludington. She was taken by boat from where she was found to the Loomis Street boat launch to continue medical care, and then transported to the hospital.
Barnett told the Daily News that initially the female victim was going to be flown from the boat launch to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital, but first responders opted to use an ambulance because it was quicker. Barnett also said the female victim may be transported to Grand Rapids later depending upon how her condition is.
Barnett said the victim is in serious condition.
A search was conducted by the Ludington Police Department, Mason County Sheriff's Office, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Ludington, Hamlin Township and Custer fire departments.
The Ludington Police Department sent out a phone message at 9:12 p.m. Thursday as it searches for 14-year-old Albrianna Huck.
Huck was described as a white female, and searchers were looking in the area of Stearns Park. The statement asked the public that if they know of the whereabouts of Huck to call 911.

At 9:45 p.m., searchers were concentrating their efforts in the Stearns Park Beach swim area, and on the far north side of the area. A crew of searchers were walking through the waves searching for Huck, too.
Searchers for Huck included the Ludington and Hamlin Township fire departments and the Mason County Sheriff's Office as well as a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter and in the sky and a pair of rescue boats in the waters of Lake Michigan.
