GRANT TWP. — Quarterline Road between Freeman Road and Nurnberg Road in Grant Township will be closed to all through-traffic for repairs on the south bridge abutment starting on Monday, June 17, according to the Mason County Road Commission.

“The work is anticipated to take about (one) week,” stated Eric Nelson, Mason County Road Commission project manager in a press release.

Barricades will be placed on Quarterline Road near the intersections of Freeman and Nurnberg roads, warning motorists about the bridge repair.

Motorists should plan to use alternate routes to avoid the area.

The wooden timber bridge was built in 1966, Nelson stated.

The approximately 64-foot-long bridge is a two-span bridge crossing the Big Sable River.
