Ludington’s No. 1 singles player, Lindsey Holmes, as well as the Orioles’ No. 1 doubles team of Hallie Ward and Carmen Wardle won their matches Friday at the Schoenherr Tennis Center as the Orioles’ girls tennis team lost 6-2 to the visiting Coopersville Broncos.

“It was a cold and windy day,” said Ludington’s new head coach Larry Brown. “The team keeps on improving. In particular, Lindsey Holmes played some good tennis by setting her opponent up with shots that were deep and shallow as well as to the left and right on the court. Hallie (Ward) and Carmen (Wardle) played a real nice match and came away a winner.”
