Ludington native Austin McCarthy has his passport ready, and he’s looking forward to getting a stamp for Russia.

McCarthy was selected as the Topeka Pilots’ representative on the NAHL’s team in the 2019 Junior Club Hockey World Cup to be played in late August in Sochi, Russia.

“It was really exciting. It was quite short notice. I was told two weeks ago on a Tuesday,” McCarthy said Thursday night. “I needed to give them my passport on Friday. It was a little bit stressful, but exciting and quite an experience at the same time.”
