Ludington’s Luke Middlebrook, seated center, looks up after signing his National Letter of Intent to swim for Kalamazoo College while seated with his parents, John and Tammy. Standing in back are Ludington assistant swim coach Gordon “Doc” Brown and head swim coach Kelley Hatch.

Luke Middlebrook became the fourth member of his family to sign a National Letter of Intent to compete in college athletics on Wednesday morning as he inked to swim for Kalamazoo College.

“My whole family, they’re all competitors. All my sisters did athletics in college, and they push me. I don’t want to be the only one to not do a sport in college,” Middlebrook said with a laugh. “I’ve been trying my hardest to keep the tradition going.”
