The Lake Michigan Carferry/SS Badger has cancelled its Friday crossings after The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) forecast for Friday evening follows:

• Northwest gales to 40 knots diminishing to 30 knots late.

• Slight chance of waterspouts in the evening.

• Chance of showers and slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening.

• Slight chance of showers overnight.

• Waves 8 to 12 feet, occasionally to 16 feet, subsiding to 6 to 9 feet and occasionally to 12 feet.

Lake Michigan Carferry will resume its normal schedule with a 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5 departure.

“In the best interest of our passengers’ comfort, we have cancelled this evening’s 9 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. crossings,” said Terri Veen, director of marketing and media relations for the SS Badger.
