HART — A Hart woman might get some relief on her trash service bill pending future action by the Hart City Council

Patricia Renna of Griswold Street asked council at its Sept. 13 meeting about a refund. Renna was being charged for two trash services as she owns two houses on one parcel. She said she lives in one of the houses, and the second house is vacant, and that she doesn’t need two trash receptacles. The current fee is $24.25 per month. She explained that she received the second trash receptacle when electrical power to the second house was restored approximately one year ago.

City Manager Rob Splane said that when utilities are restored to a house, that property has a waste receptacle delivered. He said city staff followed its proper procedures, but he agreed to check records to see when power was restored and bring it back to council.
