Julie Payment, Circulation Manager for the Oceana’s Herald-Journal and a handful of other Michigan based Community Media Group publications died unexpectedly Sunday morning, May 1.
“Julie was as enthusiastic as they come,” Oceana’s Herald-Journal Publisher Jim Young said. “She was full of ideas and always open to trying something new. She will be missed.”
Payment, a life-long resident of Ludington, along with her family owned the Sportsman’s Restaurant and Irish Pub, Barley & Rye and The Mitten Bar.
“It’s difficult to put into words how I feel about her passing,” Ludington Daily News General Manager Ray McGrew said. “I’m very fortunate to have met and walked along life’s path with her, as short as the walk was.
“My thoughts are with her family,” he said. “I’m glad they have many wonderful memories to lean on during their time of struggle.
“She will truly be missed.”
