Carleton Charles Weirich, 90, of Springfield, formerly of Elbridge Township in Hart, Mich., passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019 at Evergreen Manor in Springfield under the care of Southern Care Hospice.
A funeral service was scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at Elbridge Community Church, 2370 N. 136th Ave., Hart.. Burial will follow at Elbridge Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. at the Elbridge Community Church, just prior to the service.
Carleton was born on March 9, 1929 at the family farm home on Polk Road in Hart, Mich. He lived there all his life except for the last year and a half, which he spent at Evergreen Manor nursing home in Springfield, Mich.
Except for his two years of service in the U.S. Army, Carleton spent his entire life farming the home farm on Polk Road. Farming was his vocation and avocation. He was an active member of Oceana County Farm Bureau.
His first marriage to Helen Sills ended in 1970 with her death due to MS. His second marriage was to Lillian Frischett and ended in 2011 with her death.
Survivors include Carleton’s brother, Kenneth (Anita) Weirich of Union City; nieces Kendra (Kenneth) Phillips, Karen (Matthew) Doubleday and Kaye (David) Castle; several great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Carleton was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lilah Weirich; a brother, Aubrey Weirich; and his wives, Helen Weirich and Lillian Weirich.
