McDonough claimed the win in the junior/senior boys age group, shooting a 77. The next two golfers in the standings were Montague players Asher Erickson and Vance Butler, who posted scores of 88 and 91 respectively.

The new tour is promoting junior golf to all students grades seven through 12 that are interested in the sport at the high school or college level. Courses around the area will host events this summer on Mondays at 9 a.m.; seventh and eighth-graders play nine holes per week, while high school students play 18 holes per week.

The tour moved to Lincoln Golf Course this Monday, July 1, before heading to Oceana’s Grand View Golf Course next Monday, July 8. Later this summer, Thoroughbred Golf Course on the Double JJ Resort will host an event (Wednesday, Aug. 7), with several other nearby courses on the schedule as well. The full schedule is available at this website: https://golf.campaignpilot.com/greater-muskegon-junior-golf-tour-honoring-richard-topp-8774a398.

It costs $25 to join the tour and $20 per weekly tournament to play.
