WHITEHALL — As they did most of the season, the Shelby Tigers played hard and gave a more offensively talented team some problems last Wednesday in the district semifinals against Whitehall. However, Shelby couldn’t overcome its lack of ability to score, falling 3-0 to the Vikings.
HART — Hart rolled past Brethren Wednesday in pre-district action, 8-2, to earn a shot at top seed McBain NMC in the district semifinals.
FREMONT — Shelby defeated Fremont Wednesday in a pre-district game, 2-0, to advance to the semifinals.
SHELBY — Shelby lost a game against one of the district favorites, Big Rapids, Monday by a score of 5-1.
HART — Hart closed West Michigan Conference play with a flourish Thursday, defeating Mason County Central 6-1.
MONTAGUE — Shelby lost to Montague Wednesday to close out West Michigan Conference play, 4-1.
SCOTTVILLE — Shelby recorded its second 8-0 win of the year Tuesday, routing Mason County Central by mercy rule.
SHELBY — Shelby lost a non-league game to Orchard View Friday, 4-1.
HART — Hart was no match for one of the top teams in the West Michigan Conference Tuesday, losing an 11-0 game to Whitehall. The game was stopped at halftime due to the mercy rule.
SHELBY — Shelby’s focus has been defense all season, as the Tigers lack the ability to get goals in bunches. They played good defense again Tuesday, but lost a 2-0 game to a tough Montague squad.
