The annual meeting of the Oceana county Jail Ministry (OCJM) will be held on Tuesday, June 18, at First Baptist Church of Pentwater, 691 Park St., Pentwater.
A reception starts at 6:00 p.m. with a catered meal by Karen Isley at 6:30 p.m. followed by special music and program at 7:00 p.m. The program will include an update from an Oceana Sheriff’s representative, testimony from a student and ministry worker of Teen Challenge of Muskegon, and a request for help to conduct outdoor worship services on Sunday mornings at Jellystone Park in Silver Lake (June 30 through Labor Day) and Ludington State Park (Father’s Day through Labor Day).
The main purpose of the annual meeting is to update the public of ministry programs offered to inmates in both Oceana and Mason county jails and their families. This will be given by ministry workers.
The OCJM Board is seeking persons from Mason and Oceana counties to serve one to three year terms. If interested, attend the meeting and/or call Chairman Chaplain Jerry Thorne for further information.
Local churches and interested individuals are encouraged to attend to learn how these local ministry opportunities can fit to their talents and desire to reach others with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Reservations are requested. There is no charge for the meal, but a free will offering will be taken. Call Chaplain Jerry Thorne by June 13 at (231) 425-3693 for more information or reservations.
