Eric Lee Scott, 39, of Montague, passed away Monday, June 10, 2019. He was born on August 27, 1979, the son of David Scott and Jackie Cavanaugh.
Eric married the former Kimberly Seaver on March 3, 2001. Eric loved his family and enjoyed staying active in his children’s lives. He coached sports, volunteered at school functions and stayed involved in public activities. He worked at the Muskegon County Road Commission and thoroughly loved his job. He was a part of the Michigan Public Service Institute and the President of APWA. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, vacationing, and, on occasion, riding his motorcycle. He was a hard-working, dedicated family man. He had a one-of-a-kind smile and a generous heart. He will be deeply missed.
Eric is survived by: his wife, Kimberly; son, Tyler; mother, Jackie Cavanaugh; father, Dave (Wendy) Scott; brother, Christopher (Jennifer) Scott; sister, Angela (Mike) Stafford; parents-in-law, Terry and Karen Seaver; grandmother, Ann Schieber; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Eric was preceded in death by: his daughter, Kaitlynn Scott; step-father, Bill Cavanaugh; grandparents, Sue and Herman Scott, and Robert Schieber.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Whitehall Evangelical Covenant Church, 900 Warner Street, Whitehall. Private interment will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Montague.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Scott Family Fund C/O Harbor Light Credit Union.
