Do you know a child or teen who needs a fun new T-shirt for school? The library has a collection of shirts from various summer reading programs, and we are giving them away free to students who could use them. Stop by the library to select a shirt while supplies last. There are several colors and styles available, and sizes from youth large to adult large.

FUN FACT: Did you know the library has multiple artists on staff and on the board? Among them are Diane Zoellmer, Cara O’Brien and Norm Kittleson. Staff members Diane and Cara each had artwork accepted into the MI Arts 2021 All Media competition in Holland next month. Diane currently has two pieces of nature photography in the 2021 NCCA – Artsplace statewide photography competition in Fremont, and Cara was recently awarded first place for her sculpture in the ACWL-Nuveen juried exhibition. Norm, the library board president, recently had a photograph accepted by the Muskegon Museum of Art as part of this fall’s Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition.

Closed on Labor Day

The library will be closed Monday, Sept. 6 for the Labor Day holiday. It will be open Saturday Sept. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., so stop in to pick up a beach read, find a great new barbeque recipe, or just enjoy the air conditioning. Have a safe and happy holiday.

About White Lake Community Library The White Lake Community Library is a district library serving all residents within the boundaries of the Whitehall District Schools. Located at 3900 White Lake Dr. in Whitehall, the library provides a broad range of digital and print materials and audiovisual items for all ages.
