CADILLAC — Whitehall fell just short in a nine-inning regional semifinal classic last Saturday against Big Rapids, 4-3.
HOLTON — Whitehall lost to Holton on the road Wednesday, 5-2, in a regional tune-up game for both sides.
LUDINGTON — Whitehall earned a dramatic district championship Saturday at Ludington, winning the championship game in walk-off fashion over Newaygo 2-1. The Vikings beat Ludington earlier in the semifinals, 10-0.
MUSKEGON — Because of its fast-paced, close-quarters nature, so much of softball comes down to who makes a mistake. Saturday in the district semifinals against Ravenna, Montague made one too many, and it cost them the game in a 6-4 defeat.
HART — Whitehall finished up West Michigan Conference play Thursday with a doubleheader sweep of Hart, earning wins by scores of 10-4 and 4-1.
MONTAGUE — Montague senior Bailey Belinger lived the dream Wednesday, ending her final home game with a walk-off home run to give the Wildcats a 2-1 win over Fremont.
LUDINGTON — Whitehall rolled past Grant Tuesday in pre-district action, 10-0, to advance to the district semifinals. The game was called in the sixth inning due to the mercy rule.
GRAND RAPIDS — Montague split a doubleheader with Grand Rapids West Catholic Thursday, earning an 8-2 win in game one and losing 11-5 in the nightcap.
MUSKEGON — Reeths-Puffer closed out O-K Green Conference action with a split against Zeeland East, winning game one 7-0 before falling 7-3 in game two.
WHITEHALL — Whitehall lost a single game to North Muskegon Tuesday in non-conference action, 4-2.
